The fact that the re-telling is fairly basic and predictable holds true, but it’s a fun story that moves at a fast pace. Nonetheless, it was also a fascinating blend of dystopia, sci-fi, and fairy-tale magic. Back then it was nothing but a predictable story with an interesting twist about the way it re-tells Cinderella’s story. It has been awhile - a few years- since I read Cinder for the first time. And a conspiracy that may tie Cinder to an decade’s old intergalactic struggle. But Cinder has bigger issues to deal with than an attractive Prince who shows interest in her: her wicked step mother who’s determined to make Cinder’s life hell. Which is why when the Prince Kai’s precious android breaks down, he brings to her. Actually she’s the best mechanic living there.
